Katelyn is a dynamic entrepreneur, dedicated mother, and passionate track coach involved in non-profit work. As the International Director of Development for Weems World, she focuses on making a difference in Arkansas and Ghana.
She has led the National Basketball Wives Association (NBWA) for the past four years as Secretary and Chair of the Social Impact Committee, collaborating with the NBA and local organizations to drive positive change. Katelyn has raised over $300,000 for social initiatives and recently developed the NBWA's Books & Ball program and workbook, which supports high school students with mental wellness, financial literacy, and Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) opportunities.
Katelyn has also collaborated with the Toronto Raptors on outreach initiatives, including the "Hack a Thon" program for young girls in STEM and Basketball, and the "Courtside Cares" initiative to empower Black families with healthcare resources. Her involvement in a "Black History Month Movie Screening" aimed to inspire young women to pursue STEM education.
Her ties to Ghana are rooted in her great-grandfather's work in Aburi, where he co-founded the Aburi Girls' School, highlighting education as a family value. Inspired by her great-uncle Ohene Djan, Ghana's first Sports Director and a pioneer in African football, Katelyn is committed to expanding her philanthropic efforts. She aims to merge education and sports for sustainable community impact through partnerships with Weems World and Seed Academy, enhancing access to both in underserved areas of Ghana.
